EU allocated more than 20 million euros for the Rule of Law in Serbia

The rule of law is one of the most important topics in the negotiations between Serbia and the European Union, and the citizens of Serbia will benefit directly from the reforms in this area, it was said at the presentation of the project “EU for the rule of law” in the Palace of Serbia. The European Union allocated 20.8 million euros to help Serbia in the field of rule of law reforms, which includes the fight against corruption and organized crime, improvement of basic rights, strengthening of technical capacities for chapters 23 and 24, but also improvement of the independence of the judiciary. The Ambassador of the European Union to Serbia, Emanuele Giaufret, repeated the message from the recent Summit in Tirana – the EU is fully committed to the integration of the Western Balkans into its family. He also points out that the importance of the rule of law for this process was confirmed at the same time.
