With the support of the European Union, the city of Užice and the municipality of Kosjerić have improved the quality of life of people through the improvement of local and economic infrastructure and enhancement of the local economy. In Užice, only through one of its programmes, EU PRO Plus, EU supported the opening of the first rural kindergarten in Karan, the reconstruction of the Dispensary for pulmonary diseases while the reconstruction of the water tower on the Old Town Fortress is ongoing. This project, supported by the EU with 381,983 Euros, with significant co-funding of 543,662 Euros, provided by the city of Užice, is the continuation of work on the revitalization of this mediaeval fortress, the symbol of Užice.
