Just three months after the conclusion of the free legal aid project for internally displaced persons and returnees in Kosovo*, the continuation of this project, implemented by the Government of Serbia with the financial assistance of the European Union, was presented. This project has been providing legal support since 2008. This project will focus on internally displaced persons and returnees according to the Readmission Agreement, ensuring that all of them will have access to free legal assistance. This includes obtaining documentation from their place of origin, where they often cannot go, drafting and submitting submissions, and representation before the court and other institutions in their place of origin. Similar to previous programmes, this project will ensure the protection and realization of basic human rights, with an emphasis on the property rights of internally displaced persons and returnees according to the Readmission Agreement.
