“The specialized support for individuals who have survived violence is predominantly provided by the non-governmental sector. Therefore, the support of the European Union Delegation to the Republic of Serbia to NGOs across Serbia is very significant to enable these associations to operate locally,” said Plamena Halačeva, Deputy Ambassador of the European Union to the Republic of Serbia, at a conference marking the beginning of the project Step Forward: Enhancing Support for Victims of Sexual Violence in Vojvodina, held on March 14th.
This project is financed by the European Union and aims to improve the quality and accessibility of specialized support services for victims of sexual violence, as well as to coordinate a comprehensive institutional response to sexual violence. It is implemented by the Women’s Support Center from Kikinda.
