Paraćin is just one of the places in Serbia that was badly affected by floods in the past, especially in May 2014. The residents of Paraćin can now breathe a sigh of relief, because their town is protected from future floods – 11 kilometers of the Crnica river bank have been repaired, and critical places they are protected by mobile dams. These works were carried out as part of the project “Reconstruction of flood protection infrastructure”, worth 19.5 million euros, financed by the European Union (19 million euros) and the Republic of Austria (half a million euros), and implemented by the Austrian Development Agency.
